Masterful performances by Vana and Eleanor O'Brien - they play well together and let us in on the fun. Fantastic set; books everywhere! (Though some suspiciously recent for 1990). Script is interesting and powerful, but hampered by a final scene which drags the final argument out about ten minutes too long.

Conventional, episodic structure fails to provoke, but actresses offer truthful chemistry with only the occasional energy stall. Staging is strong in the always difficult shape of the CoHo. Subtle design works well. Finale is riveting and uncomfortable as it should be. Silly Act One scene changes distract from the arc.
