Not to single you out Simon, but when people make a reference to a "perfect" or "great" or "unbeliveable" cast, would it be too much to mention the people that actually make up the cast?
Merrit Wever played the "Girl;" she's a mid-20s TV and film actress and was absolutely wonderful in this. She was central to virtually every moment of this 90-minute piece, and nailed it all with great heart and clarity. Alex Moggridge (sounds like a Harry Potter name, doesn't it?) played across from her; he was also terrific. And a brilliant ensemble of four: Danny Belrose, Chris Murray, Deidrie Henry, and Mame Pelletier. (I believe the last three are local, don't know about Belrose.)
It was an enjoyable afternoon. Acting and directing were great, and the script was at times breath-taking in its language. But I for one found the talk-back really unsatisfying. No one expressed an opinion other than "it was perfect and should be done on Broadway right now with this same cast."
