Social-problem theatre often diagnoses message at expense of story, dulling points of both. What’s really farce was doctored too straight. Excise slow fades, innumerous scene changes; prescribe holistic staging — at least blackouts on unit set – to maintain alert comedy, conscious throughline. Adrienne Flagg’s Wanda managed to recover humanity in charade.
