Difficult play: thematically - shaking apart society’s stance against stigmatization of abused while simultaneously indulging in abuse’s animal, dirty underside; and structurally – scenes chase own tails, occasionally stagnant (then again, that’s reality). Direction honest, never wallowing in flashy sentiment, though story, character arcs slightly squashed. Dynamic cast. Welcome Portland Playhouse.
