Hurt your stomach from laughing FUNNY! The people I went to college with must have been doing double time at Zagone's school. Nice journey from the self involved barely 20 somethings through to 30-somethings doing the best they can for themselves and their families. Director Slayden Scott's staging was simple AND effective (loved the Nirvana tunes between acts), though some acting a bit over the top. I had a feeling the cast/director didn't completely trust/appreciate the script's rhythm. Most dissappointing was the miscasting of the role of Hammish. Should have been an inherently sexy, cocky, smart ass slob, but came off dull. Excellent performances by Chris Harder, John Steincamp, Christine Calfas, and Stephanie Gaslin.

It was great watching the audience's reactions to Driving Under the Influence by Nick Zagone. The packed house was taking the journey right along with the actors and enjoying the trip. The play was tightly constructed and moved at the right pace. Mr Zagone was skillfull in interweaving the lives of these characters and bringing to life each of their separate journeys. I am looking forward to a full production.

One note- Some of the actors were a little old for the play. However it is a testiment to the great wrtiting that I quickly got over that fact.

This writer is clearly talented. I simply wish the play had been less about these "happenings" and found its story. After the first hour, I lost patience. The characters became irritating and indulgent. And though the scene in the wilderness was interesting and chilling, I can't say it did much more than confuse.
