Passable production of deceptively simple, beautifully lyrical script. Once they commit to material’s urgency, desperation, grace — and look each other square-in-the-eye — tentative cast could revive honest-to-goodness old-fashioned play. Major fumble was remaking bit part of male sheriff into female mayor: sounds small, but upsets entire gender dynamics underpinning the play.
