Shame on me for doubting the potential of the monologue. Despite a few grandiose, though forgivingly theatrical elements, these 11 gentle and straightforward scenes were moment after moment of rewarding integrity, demonstrating clearly the power in simplicity. Fascinating script, strong cast, uncomplicated production. Live animals felt skittish, distracting. Funky lighting.
