Gender-bending concept of “relationships thru the voice of the opposite sex” didn’t have much to say, while odd Broadway recitatives out of context sometimes confused more than enlightened. This cabaret sextet could belt it, sure, but louder isn’t always better (that goes for accompanists, too). As my companion observed, “So?”
