Radiant Theatre Productions
May 11, 2006; closes June 10, 2006
Karaoke-ish. Reminded me of post-performance college keggers with livingroom "Time Warp" floorshows (fun yes; art no). Loved immersive staging in concept, but lacked directed focus, with characters neither honed, nor owned. Unbalanced sound; often couldn’t understand lyrics. Infectious cast; instinctively sexy, spirited Ian Anderson-Priddy shows musical theatre in his blood.

Jesus Christ Superstar
Radiant Theatre Productions
April 16, 2005
Praise Jesus for thinking outside the proscenium and staging show within audience. However, Superstar suffered sins of its fathers: namely, creators Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s god-awful music and lyrics. Novice production needed polish, struggled with invisible through-line that should’ve propelled inevitable. Insufferable wireless microphones a cross to bear.
