Saw the preview last night. Very well done production with some particularly great action moments. The set was very functional and interesting. A little cramped at times, but the actors made great use of it. Solid performances from the entire cast. Standout performances from the actress who played Annie Sullivan. She showed strength, vulnerability and a great ability to convey her passion for helping Helen. The young actress who played Helen Keller played her strong and determined without becoming an animal. A spoiled child who happened to be deaf and blind, not a wild creature. Excellent choices. Mrs. Keller was also a pleasure to watch. Her conflicted feelings toward Annie and her husband were truly conveyed and well acted. Mr. Keller had a strong presence, but did not seem to have great range in his emotional responses to each situation, but the script seemed to limit his depth of character, too. Still an excellent job worth watching. I am sure it will get even better as the show opens. An enjoyable night of theatre.
