I've been turning this over in my head. I do applaud the courage and open-ness of these four lovely ladies, but I have to say, I had a supremely unerotic experience with this show. And that troubles me, because what they are trying to do is something brave and unusual: open up a space to talk freely about eroticism. For whatever reason, I felt like I was sitting next to my mom watching our next door neighbor act out her fantasies, and this made me uncomfortable. The performers are strong, and there were moments when I felt pulled in... but I think the writing and design of the show ultimately kept me at a distance.
Everyone else in the audience, though, seemed to love it, so maybe that's just my grumpy close-minded reaction...
Maybe you shouldn't have gone with your mom....
