Summary:

The original and Re-Theatre’s adaptation, in repertory. Adaptation: Marriage is in the air. The Best Man has fallen in love with the wedding planner, the Groomsman is bickering with the Tailor, the Love Guru is on holiday, the Head Usher is smarting from a nasty case of the Nuptial Blues.

Admittedly, I only saw one version (the classic) but it does kind of occur to me, unless you see both, one really can't assess the point of the whole exercise. Perhaps going forward, make it easier to view both together (asking an audience to come back a second time is tough in this current economy) or only stage the update as most know the original well enough. Please don't miscontrue these comments, no disrespect, and obviously if it was a huge success, most audience members had no problem coming back for a second show, and I'm the rare exception, disregard my advice.
