Summary:
Silvia loves her Harlequin and Harlequin his Silvia, but when the pair is uprooted from rustic isolation and transplanted to the world of court, their faith in themselves and each other is threatened. Building from commedia dell'arte traditions, Marivaux uses slapstick to illuminate the delicate negotiations of head and heart.
