Ann Landers introduces Eppie, woman behind typewriter. Comedy garnered surprisingly few laughs. Script distances audience, avoids making Eppie fully-developed, warts-‘n-all person, instead offers Best of Ann Landers lifeline. Gretchen Rumbaugh’s characterization nearly pitch-perfect if only she’d break fourth wall rather than hiding behind Landers’ façade. Nathan Burkes/Craig Hudson’s set tasteful.
