May 29 - June 8, 2008
Summary:
A theatricalization of the fantastic ideas and images of Polish author Bruno Schulz under the direction of Luba Zarembinska of Teatr Stacja Szamocin. Featuring mannequin legs, nurses, plastic wedding dresses and meditations on eroticism and death, this performance explores “in-between” time, when we are neither awake nor asleep. World premiere.

Having seen it on "pay-what-you-will" night (the evening before opening night), I'd describe it as fascinating, tastily erotic, visually rich and, in parts, unexpectedly fun. Nice, too, to see work that's evocative and not over-explained. Kudos to the two companies involved for surmounting the logistical challenges of working together. I think it'll stick in my mind for a long time.
P.S. Foot fetishists and devotees of period lingerie take note-- you'll be glad you came.
. . . so to speak.
