Summary:
In Depression-era Indiana, C.C. Showers, a disillusioned, out-of-work preacher arrives in the tiny town of Zion and strikes up a friendship with Buddy Layman. Buddy, a disabled boy, has a gift for sensing water but also an intense fear of it due to a near drowning when he was younger.
