Why Can't I Marry the Cute Beatle?

Why Can't I Marry the Cute Beatle?

Review by Followspot

There are two kinds of one-woman shows, but rest assured, this is the good kind. Sharon Knorr doesn't take herself too seriously (until the last ten minutes); makes for a fun night. At turns hilarious and heart-wrenching, you'll feel like you're best friends with this sexy 50-something by the end.

What's the bad kind of one woman show?

Self-indulgent, overemotional claptrap.

Which this show decidedly is not.

Sharon Knorr's show is seductively savvy; sadly wise, humorously philosophical and ultimately redemptive.

Spend 90 minutes or so with this actress as she tells the true story of her life -- scars, sorrow, successes and all. You'll enjoy the evening... you'll wish you were her pal... and you'll end up hoping that in the face of tragedy, you'd have the same ability to still find the laughter, still look for love, and still live with hope that she does.

Brava.
