Portland all-stars cast - Allison Anderson, Paul Angelo, Paige Jones, Kristen Martz, Todd Van Voris, with director Brian Allard - made the Fairview trek (albeit, pacing slow). So should you. Who is Kristen Martz? I don't think I've ever heard of this "all-star" before.
I've heard of the rest, though.
4 out of 5 seems like enough to label it "all-star" to me.
I believe Martz is currently appearing in "Tales of Ordinary Madness" at Coho as the mannequin/dancer. She was even singled out for praise in the Oregonian review on Monday. Obviously younger and probsbly less experienced than the others on this roster, but picking on the wording of a press announcement in this way strikes me as pretty picayune.
Before jumping to any conclusions, perhaps giving anonymous #1 the benefit of the doubt may be in order. He/she had never heard of this actor before and may have been genuinely curious. I know I had never heard of this person before either.
Then why not simply ask, "Who is she?" and leave it at that? As phrased, there's an implication that she doesn't deserve to be classified as part of the "all-star" cast, which is neither here nor there. If it wasn't intended to be implied, then it should not have been stated that way.
Kristen starred as "Kate" in PAE's "the Taming of the Shrew" last summer. Trust me, she'll hold her own with this group.
Thanks Jeremy- not it's ringing a bell! I saw PAE's Taming of the Shrew and was surprised there were no reviews of this show anywhere! There were many new faces and strong talents! Kristen Martz had a strong presence and I loved the young girl who played Bianca. They were standout performances to me...
Yeah-I think Bianca was Jessica Geffen in PAE's Taming of the Shrew, and if so, Kristen and Jessica went to college together. Small world!
