Immensely relevant, timely story. Strength of this production lies in inclination toward “carnivalesque” comedy, an angle on otherwise “paranoid thriller” potentially sensational if more theatrically acute (like soundtrack). As new translation, dialogue is clear, even if seemingly incongruent with its setting, which, like performances, hesitates somewhere between realistic and stylistic.
