I found this production unpolished and too editorial. Director didn‘t let them “say it right, say it correct.” Inserted song at end of show was unnecessary and only added to already two-and-a-half hour production. You’re better off renting the movie (and, yes, I realize the local theatrical implications of that).

THE MONKEY KING was an action packed delight. Tears of Joy is often underrated (at least locally, like IMAGO, they get more props nationally than thye do here at home) this was some of their best work of the season.
Are they the only resident company in the Winningstadt now? With PCS leaving next fall, does this mean TOJ and OCT will be the only theater companies in residence at the performing arts center?
