The Love of the Nightingale

Theatre Vertigo
January 14, 2006; closes February 11, 2006

An extraordinary epic strikingly staged. A classic tragedy with a contemporary voice, this retelling of the Greek myth of Philomele is the embodiment of true ensemble work representing companywide collaboration seamlessly effecting a unified vision, one that takes advantage of theater’s enduring power to tell compelling stories here and now.

A great show that reminds you what theatre can do. Working with a spare set (but drenched in gorgeous lighting), the cast beautifully and convincingly creates a world out of movement and language. Excellent performances all around. Another impressive show from TV.
