Hair

Live on Stage Concert Theatre Productions
October 27, 2005; closes October 29, 2005

More concert than theatre — Broadway night on “American Idol.” Good energy overall —including a sympathetic rendition of “Easy to be Hard” — but without original libretto or patter between numbers, lacking real context to give songs meaning. Decent band, adequate vocals seemed poorly mixed. Incongruous backup dancers. Hot ushers.

"Hot Ushers"

Hmm, damn too bad you can't elaborate on that! That's a selling point right there!

For those of us who have seen the show HAIR numerous times in numerous interpretations, this was a refreshing visit to the music we hold in such fond esteeme without the profanity and nudity that is sometimes displayed. I found the singers to be talented and full of energy. I especially liked the renditions of SODOMY and WHAT A PIECE OF WORK IS MAN. Ky and Lisamarie connected with the music and the band rocked!

So you don't think profanity & nudity are integral to what this show is all about?
