1956 suburban Shakespeare with Otto Nicolai’s music presented mixed results (not quite theater, nor opera). Good shopping for directors of future musicals, most notably singer-who-can-do-comedy Amy Jo Arrington (Mrs. Ford); John Boelling’s lovingly lyrical Fenton (Oklahoma, anyone?); Peter Kriss’ well-timed character of Slender (but who likely can do much more).

No trust me, Peter Kriss can't do much more. Versatile is not in his repertoire.
