Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge

Artists Repertory Theatre
November 26, 2004

What a hoot! Christopher Durang’s twisted farce cleverly skewers Dickens’ holiday warhorse to provide a good dose of laughter for both those who love and revile the original “Carol.” Though not quite reaching a perfect pitch, this cast tilts with wild abandon even when it leans a little off kilter.

As a season ticket holder at ART for several years, I can safely say this is probably the worst production I have ever seen there. Durang's script was sophomoric and the acting was way too ham-handed, even for his material.
