Patience

Mock's Crest at University of Portland
June 26, 2004

Solid but staid Gilbert-and-Sullivan with pleasing set, competent orchestra and clever staging. Though strong vocally, John Vergin made a decrepit Bunthorne, and Anne Reed’s Patience wore thin. Rapturous maidens, Dragoon guards were cohesive, and Benjamin Van Diepen’s Duke adorable. Pallette-able costumes. Neither museum quality nor modernly moving, but charming nonetheless.
