Slow, dolorous tale of teenage yearning set amidst great depression of FDR era. Despite wonderfully weird moments with two kids under a bridge, overall vaguely incoherent and off key. Visual compositions and physicality dwarf play’s bland language. Several scarcely audible speeches delivered with back-to-audience hard to follow. Strong: Naomi Mos.
Yeah, that Naomi Mos is a total Rock Star... I haven't seen this show YET but with Naomi starring in it, It's gonna rock the Casbah for sure!

ReplyDeleteThoughtful call to witness. Copious moments of striking imagery periodically unfolded from cast tooled to its environs. Pace a bit gradual, but up-close veracity from Naomi Mos and JR Wickman grounded poetic license. Concur with colleague: other characters might’ve equally benefited from similar typecasting in order to provide generational counterbalance.
Loved it. Simple. Beautiful.
